Anticipation is a good thing. It is the act of looking forward. It best describes how I feel regarding a wedding taking place this weekend in my hometown. The bride is a joi-sie girl and the groom is homegrown. I shot her bridal pictures at the Historic Oakview County Park in Raleigh, NC. The park has an old plantation-styled house, a horse stable (but we only saw a fake horse), some goats, a pond with ducks, a pecan grove and a wash house. The park, coupled with her gown made her look like a modern day Scarlet O’Hara. A southern belle as we call it in these parts. I cannot wait, can NOT W-A-I-T to reveal her bridal portraits! I printed up a few of them for myself, as I do all bridal sessions in hopes of being able to display them on a table top easel at her reception, given that they are some of her favorite images as well. Since anticipation is as close as I’m going to get to showing her portraits and shooting this wedding, I will at least show you the cards that were designed as an enhancement to her wedding favors.
card front was an image from their engagement session…

card back has a message to the wedding guests coined by the groom

She had the sweetest doll face I have seen in a long time. A button nose and bronze colored skin. Gotta travel to her state to photograph her in the near future. This little doll face was a flower girl at a wedding I shot this past weekend in Wilson, NC.
(Sorry for the logo right on her face but there are wanna be photographers out there scouring the internet stealing images to claim as their own. This girl has got to protect herself and her work!)

A birthday party in northern Florida featured clowns, a magic show, face painting and horses. The clowns did the most creative face painting. I’ll share just an image or two.

They are cherished! You can see it in their eyes. Young people have a peculiar way of showing thru their eyes that they are loved. It’s evident when you see parents go the distance to help them realize their dreams. It’s the daily sacrifices parents make to show their love for their kids. I hope these young people realize just how blessed they are!
